Zumba is a dance-fitness exercise program that makes working out FUN! For many
people it is the only exercise program that makes them stick to a regular routine. Most
health clubs offer several Zumba classes now because their members are asking for it!
Many members won't even join a health club now unless they offer Zumba. Zumba is
growing by leaps and bounds. Now there is also Zumba Gold (for active older adults),
Zumba Toning, Zumba Aqua and Zumba for kids.
To become a zumba instructor you would need to take a one-day workshop. You
should also get CPR certified. Then look for employment in places like health club and
dance studios, or start up your own classes in community or recreation centers. Zumba
instructors teach classes everywhere from YMCA's to churches and even roller rinks!
Zumba instructors get paid various amounts and it depends where you work and what
you ask for! Health clubs may pay $15 to $30 per class. If you rent a space and
charge per person you can make alot more! You can also advertise to teach private
zumba parties or teach zumba in corporate facilities.
